JIS or ISO spring: same color, different load
Molds from Japanese companies use JIS die springs. At replacement time, maintenance teams often buy a local ISO spring of the same color because it costs less. The two standards use the colors differently.

- Load too highJIS yellow replaced by ISO yellow: mold deformation, broken pins and press stoppage.
- Load too lowJIS green replaced by ISO green: weak stripping, burrs and defective parts.
- Early breakageA heavy-load ISO spring allows less compression. At the JIS mold's stroke it can break early inside the mold.
To replace safely, choose by standard, dimensions and load, never by color alone. Send us the spring or mold code and we will point you to the equivalent JIS spring.
